Key Accused Absconding for 8 Months

A massive investment fraud involving over 15,000 investors and more than ₹500 crore has come to light. Investors were lured into investing in cryptocurrency with the promise that the company would trade the funds in the CFD market, offering an attractive monthly return of 10-15%. This shocking revelation was uncovered by the special investigation team of the trusted English newspaper Sprouts.

Ashok Reshamlal Sharma, the prime accused, hails from Purnia village in Jharkhand. He currently resides in Borivali (West), Mumbai, with his wife, Sulekha Ashok Sharma, who is also a primary accused in the scam.
Through FVP Trade Pvt. Ltd., Ashok Sharma allegedly collected ₹500 crore from over 15,000 investors. One of the investors, Rajesh Khanna, lodged a complaint on March 27, 2024, at the Charkop Police Station. Despite initial delays, an FIR was finally registered on June 9, 2024, following persistent efforts by Khanna.

Charges Filed

The FIR includes charges under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 409 (breach of trust by individuals in specific roles), 420 (cheating), and 34 (common intention). Additionally, offenses under the Maharashtra Protection of Investors Deposit (MPID) Act, Sections 3 and 4, have also been filed.

Allegations of Partial Investigation

Khanna has accused the investigation officer of deliberately omitting certain names from the FIR. He has demanded that Ashok Sharma’s associates, including Abhishek Dilip Sharma (nephew), Neha Ashok Sharma (daughter), Chandrakla Kurapati, Naveed, and Advocate Naveen Tak, be named co-accused.

Suspicious Financial Transactions

Abhishek Sharma, Kurapati, and Naveed reportedly conducted multi-crore transactions with the main accused. Neha Sharma, employed at a private company in Ghatkopar, is also linked to suspicious transactions across multiple bank accounts.

Advocate Naveen Tak, residing in Jaipur, Rajasthan, is suspected of playing a crucial role in the scam. He operates an NGO, SOG Social Foundation, which facilitated significant financial transactions with Ashok Sharma.

Sulekha Sharma’s Role

Sulekha Ashok Sharma, claiming to be a homemaker, faces serious charges under IPC and MPID laws. Investigations reveal crores of rupees were transferred to her various bank accounts via GPay, RTGS, IMPS, NEFT, and bank transfers. Despite her bail being denied by the court, the police have not arrested her, prompting Khanna to demand immediate action.

Alleged Police Collusion

Khanna has accused police officers, including Police Inspector Vilas Shelke, Assistant (constable) Sanjay Pawar, and Senior Police Inspector Jyoti Bhopale, of colluding with the accused. He has called for an inquiry into their actions and has submitted a formal complaint to Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar.

In his letter, Khanna also expressed fears for his and his family’s safety, holding the accused responsible for any harm.

Accused’s Bold Claims

Ashok Sharma, the prime accused, remains defiant. He reportedly stated:

”मुंबई की पुलिस और कोर्ट-कचहरी में, मैं टके-टके पर खरीदता हूँ। तुझे जो करना है, जा के कर ले। मेरा मुंबई में कोई कुछ नहीं उखाड़ सकता।”

”I buy off Mumbai’s police and courts for mere pennies. Do whatever you want; no one can touch me in Mumbai.”

As the investigation unfolds, the spotlight remains on the systemic lapses and the need for stringent action against those involved in this massive fraud.

गुंतवणूकदारांनी क्रिप्टोकरन्सीमध्ये (Crypto) पैसे इन्व्हेस्ट केल्यास, कंपनी ती इन्व्हेस्टमेंट CFD मार्केटमध्ये करेल व त्या माध्यमातून मिळणाऱ्या आकर्षक मासिक नफ्यातील 10 ते 15 टक्के रक्कम ही गुंवणूकदारांना वाटण्यात येईल,असे अमिश दाखवण्यात आले. या अमिषापोटी जवळपास १५ हजारांहून अधिक गुंतवणूकदारांना ५०० कोटी रुपयांहून अधिक रकमेचा चुना लावलेला आहे, अशी धक्कादायक माहिती ‘स्प्राऊट्स’ या विश्वासार्ह इंग्रजी वृत्तपत्राच्या स्पेशल इन्व्हेस्टीगेशन टीमच्या हाती आलेली आहे.

अशोक रेशमलाल शर्मा (Ashok Reshamlal Sharma) हा फ्रॉड व सध्या wanted असणारा आरोपी मूळचा झारखंड (Jharkhand) राज्यातील पूर्णिया (Purnia) गावचा रहिवासी आहे. मुंबईत तो A, १८०१, कसबलीसिमो (Casa Bellissimo Tower), गोराई, डेपोच्या मागे, बोरिवली (पश्चिम) येथे त्याच्या पत्नीबरोबर राहतो. त्याची पत्नी सुलेखा अशोक शर्मा (Sulekha Ashok Sharma) ही या महाघोटाळ्यातील मुख्य आरोपी आहे.

अशोक शर्मा याने FVP Trade Pvt. Ltd या कंपनीच्या माध्यमातून १५ हजारांहून अधिक गुंतवणूकदारांकडून जवळपास 500 कोटी रुपये जमा केले, अशी माहिती स्प्राऊट्सच्या हाती आलेली आहे. या गुंतवणूदारांपैकी मुंबईतील राजेश खन्ना या गुंतवणूकदाराने 27 मार्च 2024 रोजी चारकोप पोलीस स्टेशनमध्ये (Charkop Police Station) तक्रार केली, मात्र FIR दाखल केला जात नव्हता. पण खन्ना यांनी सातत्याने पाठपुरावा केला व अखेरीस 9 जून 2024 रोजी FIR दाखल करण्यात आला.

या FIR मध्ये भारतीय दंड संहिता (IPC) कायदा 406 (criminal breach of trust), 409 (offence of criminal breach of trust committed by individuals in specific positions), 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention) गुन्हे दाखल केले आहेत, याशिवाय महाराष्ट्र ठेवीदार (वित्तीय संस्थांमधील) हितसंबंध संरक्षण कायदा (Maharashtra Protection of Investors Deposit – MPID) कायद्याच्या कलम 3 व 4 अन्वये गुन्हे दाखल केले आहेत.

या FIR मध्ये इन्वेस्टीगेशन ऑफिसरने जाणीवपूर्वक काही नावे दाखल केली नाहीत, असा आरोप तक्रारदार खन्ना यांनी केला आहे. मुख्य फरार आरोपी अशोक शर्मा याचा पुतण्या अभिषेक दिलीप शर्मा (Abhishek Dilip Sharma), मुलगी नेहा अशोक शर्मा (Neha Ashok Sharma), चंद्रकला कुरापती (Chandrakala Kurapati), नावेद (Naveed), अधिवक्ता नवीन टाक (Advocate Naveen Tak) यांनाही सहआरोपी करा, अशी मागणी खन्ना यांनी पोलीस आयुक्तांकडे केली आहे.

अभिषेक शर्मा, कुरापती, नावेद यांनी त्यांच्या बँक खात्यात मुख्य आरोपी अशोक शर्मा याच्याबरोबर केलेल्या कोट्यवधी रुपयांची ट्रान्झेक्शन्स आहेत. अशोक याची मुलगी नेहा ही घाटकोपतमधील प्रायव्हेट कंपनीमध्ये दुय्यम पदावर कामाला आहे, तिच्या ३ ते ४ बँक खात्यांतही कोट्यवधी रुपयांचे व्यवहार झालेला आहेत.

या महाघोटाळ्यामध्ये Adv. Naveen Tak या महाठगाचीही (fraud ) भूमिकाही महत्वाची आहे. हा फ्रॉड इसम राजस्थानमधील जयपूर येथे राहतो, याचे व्यवहार संशयास्पद आहेत. या फ्रॉड इसमाची SOG Social Foundation नावाची स्वयंसेवी संस्था (NGO) आहे. या एनजीओच्या बँक अकाऊंटमधून मुख्य आरोपी अशोक शर्मा व फाऊंडेशनचे लाखो रुपयांचे आर्थिक व्यवहार झालेले आहेत.

या सर्व fraud इसमांची बँक डिटेल्स पोलीस स्टेशनमध्ये उपलब्ध आहेत. यामध्ये मुख्य आरोपी अशोक शर्मा व या फ्रॉड वकिलाचे झालेले व्यवहार स्पष्टपणे नमूद केलेले आहेत, तरीही त्यांना पोलिसांनी सहआरोपी केलेले नाही.

या गैरव्यवहारमधील दुसरी मुख्य आरोपी सुलेखा अशोक शर्मा आहे. ती गृहिणी (house wife) असल्याचे तिनेच सेशन व उच्च न्यायालयाला सांगितलेले आहे. तिच्या खात्यांत कोट्यवधी रुपयांचे व्यवहार झालेले आहेत. हे सर्व व्यवहार तिच्या वेगवेगळ्या खात्यांतून झालेले आहेत. यातील पैसे अशोक शर्मा याने ट्रान्सफर केले आहेत. तर काही बँक खात्यांत गुंतवणूकदारांनी Gpay, RTGS, IMPS, NEFT व बँक ट्रान्सफर यामधूनही कोट्यवधी रुपये जमा केल्याचे दिसून येते.

सुलेखा यांच्यावर आयपीसी व MPID च्या अंतर्गत गंभीर गुन्हे दाखल आहेत, त्यामुळे न्यायालयाने सुलेखा यांचा जामीनही नाकारला (bail reject) आहे, तरीही पोलिसांनी तिला अटक अद्याप केली नाही, त्यामुळे तिलाही त्वरित अटक करण्यात यावी, अशी मागणी खन्ना यांनी केलेली आहे.

या प्रकरणात पोलिसांनी आरोपीशी आर्थिक संगनमत केले आहे. तपास अधिकारी विलास शेळके (Vilas Shelke -पोलीस निरीक्षक), सहायक (हवालदार) संजय पवार, वरिष्ठ पोलीस निरीक्षक ज्योती भोपळे यांनी आरोपीशी हातमिळवणी केली, या सर्वांची त्वरित चौकशी करण्यात यावी, अशी मागणीही खन्ना यांनी केली आहे. त्यासंबंधीचे पत्र त्यांनी मुंबई पोलीस आयुक्त विवेक फणसळकर (Vivek Phansalkar) यांना दिले आहे. इतकेच नव्हे तर खन्ना व त्यांच्या कुटुंबियांच्या जीवाला धोका आहे, त्यामुळे काही बरेवाईट झाल्यास, या सर्वांना जबाबदार धरण्यात यावे, अशी तक्रारही खन्ना यांनी या पत्रातून केली आहे.
