Sprouts Brand Story

Isha Foundation founder Jaggi Vasudev recently met the chief minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray and environment minister Aditya Thackeray. He convinced them of the importance of the ‘Save the Soil’ campaign at this meeting. Both of them expressed their support for the campaign. But hardly 24 hours elapsed after this meeting, a shocking piece of information of 400 trucks of soil having been washed away from this very Shivaji Park, was received by the Special Investigation Team of Sprouts.

BrihanMumbai Mahanagarpalika (BMC) has floated a tender of Rs. 1 crore, just for the annual sprinkling of water on Shivaji Park. Detailed information about this was first revealed to the readers by Sprouts. After that just during the monsoon 400 trucks of soil were laid on the park by the corporation. To date, 60 percent of that has been washed away.

“Assistant municipal commissioner G-North ward, Kiran Dighavkar is silent on the issue merely due to the insistence for the tender. Crores of rupees of corruption are buried in this soil. Not merely this, the chief-minister Thackeray-supported ‘Save the Soil’ drive can be seen to have messed up at the very outset”
